About the Project

Founded in 2023, SmartFarm finds its roots in an ardent desire to contribute to the small and medium-scale farmers in India to enhance their agricultural productivity whilst ensuring that they employ environmentally-conscious strategies and techniques. Both a climate-action and social upliftment initiative at once, the heart of this multi-modal project lies in understanding the fundamental requirements of farmers who form the backbone of India’s economy. Despite technological advancements introducing a wide array of resources to increase efficiency and productivity in agriculture, farmers continue to largely depend on manual techniques in India due to the lack of ample access to novel technologies. SmartFarm hopes to bridge the existing fissures and faultlines, and ameliorate the situation of farmers, as well as simultaneously combat the global climate crisis.
